Free Therapy!
Okay, it’s a podcast. But, honestly it’s the best therapy I’ve ever had, it’s on demand at any hour of any day you feel the need. I was introduced to Evoke Therapy podcast by my dear friend and hiking partner, Kim back in 2016. Back then we would listen to an episode of the podcast on our own and then discus it while we hiked in the redwoods (usually for 1.5-2 hours). I know that at least half of the magic of this podcast was having a friend to discus it with who was going through something similar. We’d each reflect on the lessons we listened to and talk about what part of the lesson we were struggling to integrate into our lives. Not everyone can be so lucky to have a friend on the same or similar page to talk with for hours every week, but you can still get so much insight and understanding and support listening to it on your own. Though the podcast is created for parents with children in wilderness therapy, I believe the lessons in Evoke Therapy podcasts are applicable to any relationship, not just parent/child relationships, in any phase you find yourself in. It’s reassuring that being human is the common denominator for pretty much all of us.
If you’re looking for instructional information that will break patterns of habitual relationship struggle then listen to Evoke Therapy podcasts. A few carefully selected episodes can instigate spiritual and emotional growth in the most stubborn among us. Repeat listen to the episodes that especially speak to you, it can really up your integration of information. Integrating what you learn is the junction where the your transformation and evolution takes place.
No doubt everyone will have different episodes that really hit home, there are over 300 episodes to listen to! If you listen to a few you’ll notice Brad repeats a lot of his information from different angles. That’s not a mistake. He repeats it because it’s difficult to break emotional habits, and you probably need to hear what he’s got to say. You can start anywhere on the list, but I’ll just suggest where I would begin listening:
Family of Origin 2019 #246, Boundaries, Gaslighting #265, Parenting and Inner-Child work #256 and Inner-Child #231, Vulnerability #239, Communication Skills #236
